This weekend I ate my recommended daily allowance of chocolate for the year. On a trip to Bruges with C's family, we asked the lovely, multilingual waitress at De Stove to help us find the best pralines in the city (there are like 5 confiseries on every block), and she sent us without hesitation to Van Tilborgh (Noordzandstraat 1b, Phone: 050/33-59-04), a family-owned shop whose Easter window display featured an enormous chocolate cock. It's a male chicken, you pervs. I'm not sure what goes into her pralines, or just how much of the 1 kg box I, personally, ate, but oh my god the woman who makes these is a genius and I will be sending her my Jenny Craig bills. If you go there, ask for the walnut shaped pralines that are half milk and half white chocolate and are filled with something divine that tastes just like butter and probably is. I'm usually a bittersweet girl, but these babies made me see the light.
And that's not all. I know that Easter egg hunting is not really an appropriate activity for a Nice Juice Girl, but I'm sorry any activity that involves stomping around in a garden looking for bright, shiny, sweet things is kosher in my book. Having consumed half the artisinal chocolates in Belgium the day before, this hunt was almost more about getting some exercise than about eating the loot, but that didn't stop me from sampling my own booty.
The greatest treat of all? My hero, a gentle giant with a chocolate bunny heart, has lent me his old laptop to use while Jodie gets her logic board transplant. It's a Compaq Presario 1200, and I've named him Geronimo. Say hi, Geronimo!
You have me wanting to fly to belgium for chocolate, or at the very least go down stairs and get the aero on the table.

Next time you visit Bruges, you should also try ‘the chocolate corner’ in the Wijngaardstraat (close to Walplein: http://www.brugesinfo.com/bruges-belgium-chocolate-stores.php ). They have very nice chocolate, I always go there to buy my pralines...
